Summertime  Fun!

Cool mornings, hot summer sun, lakes, pools and water parks to splash around in, cool theaters with cool matinees, lovely sunsets, a cooling evening breeze, and summer nights with dinner and a show...All ages in your church family will love summertime in Branson!

New Attractions and Old Favorites

The owners of Silver Dollar City theme park bring you more summer fun with it's new, Celebration City theme park, which opened in '03. The unique, 112-acre park includes 24 rides, multiple layers of themed entertainment, amusements, restaurants, games, and a spectacular evening Laser Light Show at park closing. White Water, your beach within reach, offers cool fun on a hot Summer afternoon, and Silver Dollar City theme park has a full-day’s worth of activities in one stop. Summer at SDC also means several great festivals and events geared toward families and kids, including The National Kid’s Festival (May-August). There are also a number of other festivals, craft fairs, and fun family events around town (see Summer calendar). And, with Splash Country Indoors and Splash Country Outdoor water parks, as well as shopping, food, shows, and miniature golf, Grand Country Square is a must-stop location on any trip to Branson.

Cool outdoor fun

Swimming in area lakes, boating, and jet skiing are all fun activities that can be enjoyed in Branson. Public swimming beaches are available on Table Rock Lake at Moonshine Beach, at Indian Point’s Corps of Engineers Campground, and at the Port of Kimberling in Kimberling City. Paddle boat rides and kayaking are perfect ways to explore serene inlets and nature at its best, or if you prefer a closer look, scuba diving is an impressive adventure in pristine Ozark Mountain lakes. A Ride the Ducks “splash down” is even better on a hot Summer day, and don’t forget to commemorate your family or church group’s ride with a digital photo.

The Track, and other fun parks on the strip provide cooler evening entertainment with Go-Kart tracks, bumper boats, and miniature golf courses.

Beat the heat

Need alternatives to the dog days of Summer? Branson has plenty of fun, indoor activities for you, with maybe a little history lesson to boot! Explore the Veteran’s Memorial Museum or the new American Presidential Museum, where you can actually step inside life-size replicas of Air Force One and the Oval Office. Remember to get your picture taken with the President! This is a one-of-kind experience that your family and/or church youth group will never forget.

If movies are more your “thing,” the IMAX Entertainment Complex has IMAX movies on the BIG screens, Elite Cinema III with Hollywood hit movies, and live shows in the Little Opry Theatre. You can also shop and eat at the IMAX. You might also want to cool off by taking a trip down under…and explore nature’s theater, Talking Rocks Cavern, where it is always 62 degrees. Now that’s a cool destination!

No trip to Branson would be complete without enjoying the surplus of fabulous food choices, and of course, the shows, shows, shows! There are many awesome show choices, including “Back to the 70’s,” a new show reliving a decade that celebrated the diversity that changed our nation and some of the greatest music of our times; “The Paul Harris Show,” a new solo venture for a Branson comedy favorite; and “Celebrate America,” Branson’s all-new million-dollar revue celebrating the spirit of America.

The Irresistible Comeback!

Don’t hesitate to plan your Summer Branson excursion.  You and your church family will have the time of your lives, and once you realize the amazing possibilities that Branson has to offer, you will be quick to plan you return trip. By the way, Christmas is another great time to be in Branson!
